My present from my daughter: the Venus Fly Trap, not the fly. It's a small and rather prissy plant to grow. Still, if you follow the numerous instructions carefully, you may have a 30% chance of success. Oddly, she seemed to struggle some after her fly-meal. ♫ I don't know why she swallowed the fly, I hope she doesn't die... ♪

The Golden Gate: Fantastically beautiful to observe, a nightmare to walk across. One August it was extremely windy and was -458 degrees below zero. Yes, almost absolute zero. We all lasted about 15 minutes before we surrendered, and stiff leggedly walked back.
